Bangladesh Republican Party gets elephant as symbol

DHAKA, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) – A new political party – Bangladesh Republican Party (BRP) – has received the elephant as its symbol.

The Election Commission (EC) today handed over the certificate of the symbol – elephant – to the party’s chairman KM Abu Hanif Ridoy at the EC Secretariat.

According to a notification issued by the EC Secretariat and signed by its Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed, the EC registered the Bangladesh Republican Party as a political party until further instructions following the Supreme Court directives.

It said the party’s registration number is 57 and the elephant is its symbol.
