KISHOREGANJ, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) – NCP Northern Region Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam today said that the role of youth is essential in the process of democratic transition in the post-uprising reality.

“It was the youth who took to the streets and fought uncompromisingly against the fascist structure when people’s trust in the country's political parties waned. The mass uprising took place under the leadership of the youth, and as a result of that uprising, the fascist Hasina fled the country,” he told reporters after attending a meeting here.

Sarjis said that the participation of the young generation is vital to ensure the continuation of fundamental reforms and political processes for implementing the ‘July Charter’ in the future Bangladesh.

NCP Joint Member Secretary Ahnaf Sayeed Khan chaired the meeting, while former convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Kishoreganj district unit, Hafez Ikram Hossain, moderated it.

NCP leaders Saifullah Haider, Khairul Kabir, Sayeed Ujjal and Didar Shah, among others, also spoke at the meeting.
