JASHORE, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) – A day long public hearing for creating awareness among the common people about corruption was held at the Zila Shilpakola Academy here today.

The district administration of Jashore and the District Integrated Office of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) jointly organized the public hearing where ACC Chairman Dr Abdul Momen and its Commissioner Miah Mohammad Ali Akbar Azizi were present as the chief and special guests.

Among others, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jashore Md Azaharul Islam and Rownok Jahan were present at the public hearing.

ACC Chairman Dr Abdul Momen while addressing as chief guest said that it is not possible to root out all the corruption of the society at once but it could be reduced by creating awareness among the people.

“Through the public hearing, we are trying to build up better understanding between the officials of different offices and the common people to reduce corruption from the society,” he said, adding that the ACC with the help of the general people is trying to unmask the identity of the real criminals of the society.

Commissioner Ali Akbar Azizi said that the responsibility of the ACC is not only to create panic among the people but also make conscious about it.

A total of 75 allegations against 37 government, semi-government, autonomous and non-government offices were raised in the public hearing, organizers of the hearing said.

These allegations would be scrutinized and investigations would be launched if the allegations of corruption are justified, they added.
