Three officials of Aramit PLC taken on five days remand

DHAKA, Oct 26, 2025(BSS) - The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has taken three officials of Aramit PLC on a five-day remand for interrogating in connection with a corruption case, officials sources said here today.

The officials of the company are Md Abdul Aziz, Mohammad Jahangir Alam and Utpal Paul.

Deputy Director (DD) of the Public Relations Department Md Akhtarul Islam said that Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) of the ACC, Dhaka integrated office-1 Md Sajib Ahmed brought them to the ACC headquarters from Keraniganj Central Jail for interrogation.

They were taken on a five-day remand from the Senior Special Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court of Dhaka on October 23.

The ACC sources said that the officials were very close to former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury who helped him to launder money abroad and purchasing of properties there. They also helped the former minister for embezzling hundreds of crores of money through taking loans from different banks including United Commercial Bank proving false and fabricated deeds and documents.

The ACC by interrogating them is trying to find out the detailed information about the laundered money and the persons behind it, the sources added.
