DHAKA, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) – Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Md Rakibul Islam Rakib today said they have never patronized any injustice.

“To this day, no one can say that we have ever condoned injustice” he said.

He made the remarks at a discussion and prayer meeting held in memory of Hasibur Rahman, a late student of Jagannath University and joint convener of the university’s JCD unit, and Jobayed Hossain, a member of the same unit’s convening committee who was brutally murdered on Sunday.

Rakib expressed deep sorrow over the recent deaths of three Chhatra Dal leaders — Samya of Dhaka University, Parvez of a private university, and Jobayed of Jagannath University — all of whom were killed within a short span of time.

“These three young men were known for their integrity and good character among their peers. They never engaged in any form of injustice,” he said.

He emphasized that like Samya, Parvez, and Jobayed, the vast majority of JCD members are principled individuals.

“Except for a few troublemakers, our members live honest lives, remain devoted to Bangladesh, and uphold the ideals of our national leader, Tarique Rahman,” he continued.

Speaking on the occasion, JCD General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said that despite 142 members of the student wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) were killed during the July Uprising, the struggle continues as leaders and activists are still losing their lives.

Nasir also praised the Jagannath University’s administration for its active role following the tragic deaths, expressing gratitude on behalf of the JCD for the university’s support.

The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Rezaul Karim, Treasurer Professor Sabrina Sharmin, Registrar Professor Sheikh Giasuddin, Teachers’ Association General Secretary Professor Raish Uddin, Jagannath University unit convener Mehedi Hasan Himel, and other university officials and student leaders.
