Elected RUCSU, Hall leaders take oath

RAJSHAHI, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) - The newly elected leaders of the Rajshahi 
University Central Students' Union (RUCSU) and Hall Councils took oath of 
office today.

Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor and RUCSU President Professor Saleh 
Hassan Naquib administered the oath at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium at 
5:30pm.

Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Mayeen Uddin, Pro-VC (Academic) Professor 
Farid Uddin Khan, and Chief Election Commissioner Professor F Nazrul Islam 
were present.

The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the handing over of 
the RUCSU gazette to the vice-chancellor.

A total of 23 central union leaders and 260 representatives from 17 halls 
took the oath.

Addressing the event, Professor Naquib urged the elected leaders to serve all 
students irrespective of political identity and to work for their welfare. He 
said RUCSU is not a platform for political agendas but for constructive 
activities.

In the October 16 election, the Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed Sammilita 
Shikkharthi Jote panel won 20 of 23 central posts, including vice-president 
and assistant general secretary.
