Police arrests 38 individuals in anti-crime drive in city

DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 38 individuals as part of anti-crime campaign under Mohammadpur and Lalbagh areas.

According to a press release issued here today by DMP’s media and public relations division, Mohammadpur and Lalbagh police netted the 38 alleged criminals on charges of various crimes through a special drive.

The release said that legal procedure is underway against the arrestees.

It said Mohammadpur police yesterday arrested Riaz (21), Akter Hossain (19), Nazmul (22), Helal (20), Rafi (20), Limon (20), Swapon (30), Emon (19), Zahid (24), Al Amin (22), Naim (25), Muktar (24), Shakil (26), Momtaj (26), Riadul (28), Babu (27), Alauddin (29), Chan Mia (45), Hasibul (26) and Shakil (25) from various crime prone spots.

The release also said that Lalbagh police today arrested Md Rafiqul Islam (45), Md Badsha (45), Md Joynal Abedin (50), Md Swapon (55), Md Amjad (60), Abul Kashem (55), Md Abdul Matin (32), Shafiqul Islam (45), Arif Hossain (35), Md Roni Hossain Ripon (36), Anwar Hossain (34), Shohag Bepary (45), Md Naimur Rahman Sajid (26), Md Shohag (22), Md Mostafa Hawlader (45), Mod Sohel Mollick (35) and Md Akbor Hossain (35).

DMP’s media and public relations division said that the arrested include accused facing regular cases and involved in various crimes.
