Tarique Rahamn stands by blind Gafur Mallick

DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by blind Gafur Mallick who is facing health challenges in his eighties. 

A news report on social media titled 'Blind Gafur in a Fight for Survival at the End of His Life!' recently came to Tarique Rahman's attention. Following this, he instructed Atiqur Rahman Rumen, Convener of Amra BNP Poribar, to contact with Gafur Mallick's family.

Landless and childless, Gafur Mallick, who is fighting for survival at the end of his life, resides in the Khola Baria village of Rajbari Sadar Upazila.

Consequently, a delegation from Amra BNP Poribar visited elderly Gafur Mallick on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Chief Adviser of Amra BNP Poribar, was present as the chief guest at the meeting.

Organization's advisers Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul and Engineer Mostofa-E-Zaman Selim; Member Secretary Krishibid Mokshedul Momin Mithun; National Press Club Managing Committee Member Jahidul Islam Rony; and members Masud Rana Liton and Shakil Ahmed were also present during the visit. 

Atiqur Rahman Rumen conveyed a message of sympathy to Gafur Mallick on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman during their meeting. Additionally, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi handed over financial assistance to Gafur Mallick.
