Govt promotes four SPs to Addl DIG rank

DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – The government today promoted four superintendents of police (SPs) to the rank of Additional Deputy Inspector General (Addl-DIG).

The Ministry of Home Affairs today issued a gazette notification in this regard here.

The notification said the promoted officers are SP of Anti-Terrorism Unit Md Shahriar, SP of Special Branch (SB) Dr Mohammad Abdul Quader, SP of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Md Masum Billah Talukder and SP (Additional DIG current charge) of Police Headquarters Md Jannatul Hasan.

It said that the promoted officers have been asked to submit joining letters to the senior secretary of the ministry through the appropriate authorities. 

The order, issued in public interest, will come into effect from the date of joining, the notification said.
