CUMILLA, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has stressed the need for dialogue and consensus among all political parties on state reform, amendment to the Representation of the People Order (RPO) and the referendum process ahead of the upcoming national elections.

He said this while speaking at a press briefing after a view-exchange meeting with Chauddagram upazila polling center directors at Cumilla Central Medical College auditorium today.

Dr. Taher said an acceptable and peaceful election requires a trust-building environment among major political parties. Any unilateral move, he warned, may deepen political uncertainty.

He urged the government to remain committed to neutrality and its declared stance on participatory elections and referendum pledges to strengthen democracy.

The meeting was presided over by Upazila Jamaat Ameer Md. Mahfuzur Rahman and attended by local and regional Jamaat leaders.
