DHAKA, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS)– The Bangladesh Secretariat Service Association has urged the government to set the minimum salary at Tk 35,000 in the upcoming pay scale to ensure alignment with current market rate.

The association also expressed hope that the notification of the new pay scale will be issued by December this year, a press release said.

A representative team of the association placed the demand during a meeting with the Pay Commission, constituted to determine the national pay scale, on Monday.

The delegation proposed the formation of a permanent pay commission, revision of the capital city allowance (Rajdhani vata) and fixing the minimum basic salary at Tk 35,000 for a six-member family.

The association leaders also voiced support for the reasonable demands of other organizations regarding the pay scale.

The members of the delegation, led by association convener Abdul Khalek, included Safiuddin, Selina Sultana, Zahida Khatun, Nazrul Islam, Golam Mostafa, Farid Ahmed, Habibur Rahman, Kamal Hossain and Mizanur Rahman, among others.
