KHULNA, Nov 1, 2025 (BSS) - Farmers here in the region have begun harvesting Transplanted Aman (T-Aman) paddy from dawn to dusk since the last week.

This year, farmers have cultivated Aman paddy on 2,90,342 hectares of land against target 2, 98,635 hectares in Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira and Narail districts in the region, according to the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).

The DAE, however, has a target of 11,07,805 tonnes of paddy production.

97.2 percent of the cultivation target has been achieved after blissful rain though the transplantation of Aman seedlings was hampered at the initial and middle stages of the season due to drought-like situation, said DAE officials.

He, however, expressed joy over the bumper production, which may exceed the target.

Favorable climatic, proper distribution of high-quality seed by Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) and timely supply of fertilizers and other agro-input to the growers have tremendously contributed to the bumper production, Khulna Region DAE Additional Director Md Rafiqul Islam told BSS.

The DAE also provided training to the farmers for adopting modern

He noted that farmers so far harvested paddy from about 11,044 hectares of land till October 29.

The DAE official expected completion of the Aman paddy harvest by December.
