DHAKA, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - Members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested an alleged drug peddler with 6,378 pieces of Yaba at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) last night.

The arrestee was identified as Md Pannu Hawlader, 30, of Amtoli Upazila in Barguna District.

He was carrying the drugs inside his stomach and had arrived in Dhaka from Cox's Bazar on domestic flight BS-142 of the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route, HSIA sources said.

Acting on a tip-off, the airport armed police battalion arrested Pannu Hawlader in front of the arrival gate of the domestic terminal.

After confirmation via X-ray, he was taken to Kurmitola Hospital, where doctors retrieved 136 packets of Yaba from his stomach, said Operational Commander of Airport Armed Police Battalion Mohammad Mozammel Huq.

A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.
