Chhatra Dal should be reorganized afresh for welfare of student community: Anee

LAXMIPUR, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee today said the Chatra Dal should be reorganized afresh adjusting to the contemporary age as the organization could not develop itself as a real organization for the welfare of students in the last 17 years.

“The Chhatra Dal could not develop itself upholding real politics because it had been engaged in staging protest regularly against the fascism,” he said.

 The BNP leader said this as the chief guest while speaking at the freshers’ reception of Kafil Uddin University College here this noon.

Anee said as thousands of BNP and its front organization’s leaders and activists including the Chhatra Dal had been the victims of killings, disappearances, attacks, cases and repression, state that even they had sacrificed their lives every day during staging movement, so they could not do their real politics for the students.

He said a total of 142 Chhatra Dal leaders and activists faced martyrdom only during the July movement.

With Kafil Uddin University College Chhatra Dal president Mehrab Hossain in the chair, the reception programme also was addressed, among others, by Central Chhatra Dal vice-president Kazi Zia Uddin, district BNP member secretary Sahabuddin Sabu, district BNP joint convener Advocate Hasibur Rahman and Kafil Uddin University College Chatra Dal member secretary Azim Hossain Harun.
