
KHULNA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - Director General of the Directorate of Mass Communication Md Abdul Jalil has said that women in the Khulna region are advancing in all sectors as the government has prioritized women's development in every sphere.
He said the Directorate is working to disseminate information about government development activities and promote women's empowerment at the grassroots.
The Director General made the remarks last night while addressing a courtyard meeting at the residence of Pradip Kumar Roy in Batiaghata Upazila of the district.
The event was organized under the project titled 'Awareness Campaign for the Development of Children, Adolescent Girls and Women' being implemented by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Abdul Jalil said all religions teach humanity and good conduct. The Creator has given women a special place, he observed, adding that no one is dearer than a mother. "If a child goes astray, the mother suffers the most," he said, urging parents to ensure proper education and upbringing of their children and remain vigilant about their activities and surroundings.
Referring to the ongoing typhoid vaccination campaign, he called upon all to ensure vaccination for children aged between nine months and 15 years.
He also warned against false rumors being spread by vested quarters and stressed collective efforts to combat misinformation.
Among others, Khulna Divisional District Information Officer Gazi Zakir Hossain, Deputy Principal Information Officer of the Regional Information Office A S M Kabir, Deputy Director of the District Information Office Md Ibrahim-al-Mamun, teachers Prabash Chandra Gain and Niranjan Kumar Roy, Assistant Teacher Nomita Rani Mondol, and host Pradip Kumar Roy were present.
Local women also took part in the courtyard meeting, arranged by District Information Office.
Later, the Director General visited the Khulna Divisional District Information Office and exchanged views with officials and employees. In the afternoon, he inspected the proposed site of the Modern Information Complex at Noornagar in Khulna.
