Nassa Group Chairman Nazrul shown arrested in fresh uprising killing case

DHAKA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today showed Nassa Group Chairman Nazrul Islam Mazumder arrested in another case lodged over the killing that took place during the July-August Mass Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana passed the order showing Mazumder, also the former chairman of EXIM Bank, arrested in the Kamal Hossain murder case filed with the Gulshan Police Station.

The same court also showed former Managing Director of Desh Television Ltd Arif Hasan arrested in a case lodged with the capital's Kotwali Police Station, over an attempt to murder on Rofayed Hasan on August 5, 2024.

Kamal Hossain got shot and killed on July 19, 2024, in Shahjadpur Batar Goli area as he took part in Anti-Discrimination Student Movement rally.

The case was filed on July 7, 2025.
