Mahbub Ali Khan’s 91st birth anniversary observed in Bogura

BOGURA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS)  - The 91st birth anniversary of Rear Admiral (Retd.) Mahbub Ali Khan, father-in-law of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, was observed in Bogura today through various programmes.

In observance of the day, a Quran Khawani, Doa Mahfil, and food distribution programme for orphans were organized at the Baitur Rahman Central Mosque here after Zohr prayers. Family members of the late Mahbub Ali Khan arranged the day’s events seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.

District BNP president Rezaul Karim Badsha, BNP National Executive Committee members Ali Azgar Talukder Hena and Joynal Abedin Chan, former District BNP convener Advocate Saiful Islam, former District BNP general secretary Fazlul Bari Talukder Belal and District BNP organizing secretary KM Khairul Bashar were present, among others.

Others who attended the programme include - Bogura Press Club general secretary Kalam Azad, family members of the deceased Syed Aminul Haque Dewan Sajal, District BNP joint secretary Touhidul Alam Mamun, Sheikh Tahauddin Nahin, District BNP Co-organizing secretary Humayun Kabir Geda, Town BNP organizing secretary Solaiman Ali, District Fishermen’s Party convener Mainul Haque Bakul, Syed Abdul Gafur Dara, Al Amin Sarkar, and Ujjal Hossain.

The doa mahfil was conducted by Imam Maulana Belayet Ali of Baitur Rahman Central Mosque. Later, special meals were served among the students of the Orphan Madrasa at Dattabari in the district town.

Rear Admiral (Retd.) Mahbub Ali Khan, a distinguished naval officer and former Chief of Naval Staff, is remembered for his contributions to the Bangladesh Navy and public service.
