DHAKA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - A Detective Branch (DB) team under Wari division has arrested a drug dealer and recovered 483 bottles of Phensidyle from the city's Jatrabari area. 

The arrested is identified as Md Ashikur Rahman Ashiq, 30, according to a press release issued by media and public relation division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) here today.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued the release and said the DB team conducted a raid a Matuail Medical area under Jatrabari police station at about 2:10 pm and arrested him.

It said police also seized a covered van, which was used for drug transportation. 

The release however, said other two accomplices escaped to manage from the scene. 

A case was filed with Jatrabari Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act in this regard.
