DHAKA, Nov 04, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the authorities concerned to hand over tax documents of Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury alias Nixon Chowdhury and Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury Liton, former members of parliament (MPs) from Faridpur-4 and Madaripur-1 respectively, and two others to CID.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The court asked NBR's taxes zone-8 to comply with the order.

The two other persons whose tax documents have also been ordered to be handed over are Nixon's wife Tarin Chowdhury and his private secretary Md Shahdat Hossain.

""We had applied to obtain the income tax records and associated documents of Nixon Chowdhury and three others. For the sake of investigation, copies of their income tax files are necessary. The court accepted the petition and directed the National Board of Revenue's 'Taxes Zone-8' to provide copies of their income tax records and associated documents," investigation officer (IO) and CID's Financial Crimes Unit sub-inspector Moniruzzaman told BSS.
