KHULNA, Nov 4, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Central Secretary for Information and party-nominated candidate for the Khulna-4 constituency Azizul Bari Helal has said that BNP is a major political force in the country and its leaders and workers cannot be subdued through threats or intimidation.

He expressed confidence that Bangladesh would “stand high with pride” if the BNP is elected in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary polls.

He was addressing an election rally organized by the upazila unit of BNP and its associate bodies at Purba Rupsha Bank intersection in Rupsha upazila this morning.

Helal said that Tarique Rahman is indispensable for the proper and democratic management of the country.

He alleged that during the “fascist rule” of 2011, BNP leaders and activists across the country were harassed, assaulted, and forced to flee their homes through fabricated cases.

“It was due to that long-standing repression that the student community and the people rose up in the August 5, 2024, mass uprising, forcing Sheikh Hasina to flee the country,” he claimed.

Helal also said that from London, Tarique Rahman played a leading role in guiding and coordinating the 2024 mass movement.

“Whenever the country has faced a crisis, BNP has stood by the people,” he added, warning that if another “rubber-stamp” government is formed, the people will lose their rights once again.

The rally was presided over by Upazila BNP Convener Molla Saifur Rahman, with Member Secretary Javed Hossain Mallik conducting the event. Among others, District BNP Joint Conveners and BCB Khulna Divisional Director Khan Zulfiqar Ali Zulu, Molla Khairul Islam, and GM Kamruzzaman Tuku also spoke.
