26 held in anti-crime drives in city

DHAKA, Nov 4, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 26 
people as part of its anti-crime campaign under Mohammadpur areas.

According to a press release issued here today by DMP's media and public 
relations division, Mohammadpur police netted the 26 alleged criminals on 
charges of various crimes through a special drive.

The release said that Mohammadpur police produced them before court.

It said police on Monday arrested Khalid Hasan Milu (24), Md Arman (36), Md 
Rubel Mia (40), Md Atiq (28), Md Zia (27), Shahabuddin (19), Yasmin Akhter 
(26), Md Zahid (26), Md Rahat (20), Nabiul Hasan Hridoy (24), Annay Hasan 
Jamil (22), Ramzan (19), Araf Ahmed Shafi (24), Md Russell (25), Abdul 
Muktadir (35), Md Saddam Hossain (26), Md Shakil (22), Md Ishaq (35), Hira 
alias Bima alias Gail Hira (25), Md Akash alias Setu (26), Md Billa alias 
Billa Kasai (30), Md Motaleb Hossain, Rabbi (22), Saju (22), Arif (24) and 
Emon (25) from various crime prone spots under the city's Mohammadpur area.

Police also recovered 289 pieces of yaba tablets, 16 grams of heroin and 
three knives from their possession, the release added.

DMP's media and public relations division said that the arrested include 
accused facing regular cases and involved in various crimes.
