ACC to conduct DNA test to confirm parents of Nachol UNO

DHAKA, Nov 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to conduct a DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid ) test to confirm real parents of Md Kamal Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Nachol in Chapainawabganj.

“Kamal Hossain got civil service job through the 35th BCS examination under freedom fighter quota,” ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain said this at a media briefing here in the city.

He said Deputy Assistant Director of the ACC’s Combined District Office, Dhaka, Md Manjurul Islam Mintu filed the case against him on December 26 last year.

Hossain said accused Kamal Hossain was previously working as UNO of Atrai upazila in Naogaon and as senior assistant commissioner in Magura Deputy Commissioner's office.

According to case details, Md Kamal Hossain committed fraud by portraying his uncle, freedom fighter Md Ahsan Habib and Aunt Sanowara Khatun as his parents instead of his biological parents Md Abul Kashem and Habiya Khatun and got job under the freedom fighter quota. 

It said that investigating officer submitted an application to the commission to carry out a DNA test of the accused to identify biological parents, as the case is now under investigation stage. 

Later, the commission approved the DNA test.
