DHAKA, Nov 4, 2025 (BSS) - Eminent Islamic scholar and former Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies at Islamic University, Kushtia, Prof. Dr. A.H.M. Yahyar Rahman passed away in Dhaka today. He was 84.

Prof. Yahyar Rahman also served as chairman of the Department of Al-Qur'an and Islamic Studies and held various administrative positions at the university.

His first namaz-e-janaza was held tonight at Darunnajat Siddiqia Kamil Madrasah in Demra, Dhaka. 

The second will be held tomorrow after Zohr prayers in his native village of Kashimari in Shyamnagar upazila, Satkhira.
