DSCC’s new administrator stresses on improving citizen services

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) – The newly appointed Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan has called upon the officials to enhance the quality of citizen services through utmost professionalism, dedication, sincerity, and public engagement.

He made the call during a discussion meeting with senior officials of DSCC at the city hall on Tuesday, said a press release today.

During the meeting, the DSCC Administrator underscored the important role of the City Corporation in delivering essential services that impact all segments of society. 

Acknowledging the critical and sensitive nature of operations in the capital, he emphasized the importance of maximizing outreach efforts despite resource constraints.

He further highlighted the need for active public engagement and systematic validation of citizen feedback, led by regional executive officers, to ensure timely completion of key initiatives such as birth and death registration, dengue prevention, and waste management.

DSCC Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Zaherul Islam, Secretary Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, all divisional heads, supervisory engineers, and regional executive officers, among others, were present.

Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Director General of the Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Ministry of Local Government was appointed as the Administrator of DSCC on Sunday (November 2).

He will exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, according to a government notification.
