Banned BCL leader Fahad remanded in trader Wadud killing case

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed Sajid Hasan Fahad, 
former general secretary of New Market Thana unit of now banned Bangladesh 
Chhatra League (BCL), on a three-day remand in a case lodged over the killing 
of trader Abdul Wadud during the July Mass Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rounak Jahan passed the order, as police 
produced Fahad before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-day 
remand.

According to the case documents, Abdul Wadud was shot and killed in the 
Nilkhet area under New Market Police Station on July 19, 2024. His brother-
in-law Abdur Rob filed the case against 130 including Sheikh Hasina and 
Obaidul Quader.
