Seven banned-BCL men remanded anti-terrorism case

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed seven leaders and 
activists of now banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on a 10-day remand 
each in a case lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The remanded accused are-BCL central committee vice-president Rafikul Islam 
Badhon, Satkhira district BCL general secretary Md Sumon Hossain, activists 
Mesbahul Islam, Saiful Islam Saif, Mostafizur Rahman, Sheikh Rasheduzzaman 
and Mamun Sheikh.

Dhaka Additional Chief metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the 
order.

According to the case documents, leaders and activists of the BCL gathered in 
the capital's Paltan area on October 31, 2025, to destabilize the country. 
They chanted different anti-state slogans during the time. 

Police later filed the case with the Paltan Police Station in this 
connection.
