Mobile court seizes 1,555kg polythene, fines six organisations

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today conducted drive at Krishi Market in city’s Mohammadpur area and seized 1,555 kilograms of polythene and fined Taka 55,000 to six organizations for selling, supplying and marketing banned polythene.

The drive has been conducted from 10am to 1:30pm, said RAB additional police super Shamsul Islam.

During the drive, Aminul One Time Ghar was fined Taka 25,000, Bhai Bhai Enterprise was fined Taka 5,000, M/S Mamun Business Center was fined Taka 5,000, Delwar One Time Store was fined Taka 5,000, Maya Shopping Store was fined Taka 10,000 and M/S Shariatpur Packaging Store was fined Taka 5,000 for selling, supplying and marketing banned polythene.

At the same time, verbal instructions have been given not to sell, supply and market polythene in the future in the public interest, he said.  

RAB has been conducting continuous operations against the production, sale and use of polythene to ensure environmental protection. 

He said that RAB will continue such operations in the future as well.
