Detectives arrest six AL leaders in the city

DHAKA, Nov 7, 2025 (BSS)- Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested six leaders and activists of Awami League from different parts of the capital.

DMP’s deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman said the AL activists were arrested for staging frequent ‘flash marches’ in the capital for the banned party and attempt to create law and order situation.

The arrested persons will be produced before the court and necessary process in this regard is going on, he said.

The arrested person were identified as Shahadat Hossain (44), member of central executive committee of Awami Matsya Jibi League and sports secretary of ward No. 27 of Awami Jubo League North City unit, Khan Jahan Ali alias Kalu Patwari (55), three-time chairman of Chandra Union Parishad of Chandpur Sadar, Mashiur Rahman, assistant secretary of central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and former vice-president of Jagannath University BCL, Kazi Faiz Ahmed, vice-president of Khalishpur thana Awami League in Khulna, Alim Al Tarif, deputy library and publication affairs secretary and employment affairs secretary of BCL Dhaka North unit and Tipu Sultan, former joint secretary of central executive committee of the Awami Matsya Jibi League, police said.

A team of detectives of Tejgaon Division arrested Shahadat Hossain from Monipuripara area of Tejgaon thana and Khan Jahan Ali alias Kalu Patwari from Nandipara Bridge area under Khilgaon thana.

Another team of detectives of Lalbagh Division arrested Mashiur Rahman from West Agargaon area while detectives of Cyber ??Division arrested Kazi Faiz Ahmed from Bashundhara area and Tipu Sultan from Demra thana area.

Detectives of Cyber ??Division arrested Alim Al Tarif from Lalbagh area.
