DMP files 1,703 cases in drives against traffic law violation in one day

DHAKA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) traffic divisions has filed a total of 1,703 cases against violation of traffic laws in one day on November 9.

“The DMP campaign against traffic rule violations in the city aims to bring traffic system under proper management,” a DMP statement issued by its spokesman
Muhammad Talebur Rahman.

It said 396 motor vehicles were dumped and 87 vehicles were wrecked during the campaign for traffic rules violations during the drive yesterday adding several units of the traffic divisions conducted the drives.

DMP’s Motijheel traffic division filed the highest 324 cases, Uttara division filed 267 cases, Tejgaon division 242 cases, Mirpur division 226 cases, Gulshan division 217 cases, Wari division 131,Ramna division filed 105 cases and Lalbagh division 191 cases against operators of motor vehicles, three wheelers and motorcycles.

“We are trying to discipline traffic on Dhaka streets,” the statement read.
