ICRC delegation meets IGP

DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) - A two-member delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) met with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam at the Police Headquarters today. 

The delegation was led by ICRC head of delegation Nicolas Fleury.

During the meeting, Fleury praised the role of the Bangladesh Police in providing security and legal assistance to Rohingyas living in camps across Bangladesh. 

The delegation head also expressed interest in learning about the training needs of police members and shared information about the scope of Red Cross activities in the country.

In addition, the delegation discussed issues concerning the safety of Red Cross volunteers during disasters and accidents.

The IGP briefed the delegation on the types of training required to enhance the capacity of the Bangladesh Police.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh Police were present during the meeting.
