DHAKA, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - Leaders of the eight-party alliance today said that all political parties under the alliance including Bangladesh Jamaat-E-Islami and Islami Andolon Bangladesh will stage a nationwide sit-in programme on November 13 to resist fascist forces and their acts of sabotage and conspiracy.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman made the announcement on behalf of the alliance while declaring the next course of action at a joint press conference at the Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar this afternoon.

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar said the current political situation has become extremely tense and the so-called fascist elements and their allies are conspiring to create unrest in the capital under the pretext of shutdowns and lockdowns.

He alleged that incidents such as arson attacks on buses, the throwing of cocktails, and the unusual presence of strangers in city hotels are part of a wider plot to destabilize the country.

He said the eight-party leaders are ready to cooperate with the government to help maintain peace and stability and urged the authorities to engage in dialogue to find a peaceful political solution.

He added that the alliance will continue to prioritize dialogue to reach a democratic solution, but will proceed with peaceful protests if necessary.

Announcing the next phase of the programme, Professor Mujibur Rahman said that on Friday, November 14, demonstrations will be held across the country at district and metropolitan levels in support of the alliance’s five-point demand.

These include the issuance of a constitutional order to implement the July National Charter and the holding of a referendum before the upcoming national election. He said the top leaders of the eight-party alliance will meet again on Sunday, November 16, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a press conference at 12:30 p.m. at the same venue.

“If the people’s five-point demand is not accepted before Sunday’s meeting, we will announce an indefinite sit-in in front of the Chief Adviser’s Office from that press conference, Insha’Allah,” Mujibur Rahman said.

Islami Andolan Bangladesh Secretary General Principal Yunus Ahmad, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Secretary General Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmad, Bangladesh Nezame Islam Party led by Sarwar Kamal Azizi, Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana Abul Bashar Azad, and JAGPA Vice-President Engineer Rashed Pradhan were present.
