CHATTOGRAM, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS):  Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested seven people during a raid at the house of former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel in the city.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel is the eldest son of the late ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former mayor of Chattogram City Corporation.

The operation was conducted by Panchlaish police station around 3:30 pm today in the Chashma Hill area near Gate No. 2 of the city.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Solaiman of Panchlaish police station confirmed the operation but did not disclose the identities of the seven arrested people.

The police have seized the DVDR box of the CCTV camera in the house for verification following an operation. OC Mohammad Solaiman informed reporters that a Facebook post indicated that some individuals were planning to attend a banned Awami League programme on Thursday. It was reported that a group of people were gathering for the program on November 13, with information suggesting that food was being brought in from outside for the attendees.

As a result, the police conducted an operation and detained individuals who are now being taken to the police station for questioning.
