HABIGANJ, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur today said plotters are hatching conspiracy from home and abroad to foil the next parliament elections.

“The country will face a major disaster if the national parliamentary elections are not held in the country next February,” he told reporters after attending a public rally marking the next election on the ground of municipality here.

Gono Adhikar Parishad, district unit, organized the rally in support of the party's candidate for Habiganj-3 constituency Chowdhury Ashraful Bari Noman.

Regarding the referendum, Nur said, “At this moment, there is no reality of holding two separate votes for the referendum and the national election. Many political parties, including us, have agreed that a referendum can be held simultaneously with the national election to give a legal basis to the July Charter.”

About the alliance, he said, "We will not join any alliance. We have already started the election campaign.”

Organization's vice-president Sirajul Islam presided over the meeting while party’s Sylhet Divisional Organizing Secretary Habibur Rahman Mizu, President of the Habiganj District unit Chowdhury Ashraful Bari Noman, leader Tahmid Hasan, and Member Secretary of the Habiganj District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Mahdi Hasan, among others, addressed the rally.
