77th birthday of eminent novelist Humayun Ahmad today

DHAKA, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - The 77th birthday of eminent literature, playwright and director Humayun Ahmad is today. 

Different cultural organizations including his followers are celebrating his birthday through various programmes.

On the occasion, his wife Meher Afroz Shaon and his two younger sons visited his grave with floral tributes on his grave at Nuhash Palli. Later, the birthday was celebrated by cutting a cake.

Riddhi Prakashan has organized a week-long film screening for fans and admirers on the occasion of the 77th birthday of eminent filmmaker Humayun Ahmed. 

Under the title of 'Humayun Ahmed Week', Star Cineplex is screening 'Amar Ache Jal', 'Ghetuputra Kamala', 'Daruchini Dwip' and No. 9 Bipod Sanket from November 7 to November 13 at various branches of Star Cineplex. People can watch the films at Star Cineplex's Simanta Sambhar, Sony Square and Military Museum branches.

The films he produced have received huge audience popularity. Along with the films, all the dramas aired in his works have gained popularity. 

Humayun Ahmed's most popular books are: Nandit Narake, Shankhanil Karagar, Jyotsna and Janani'r Golpo, Matal Hawa, Aaj Chitra's Biye, Shyamal Chhaya, Deyal, Krishna Paksha, Mrinmayee, Ballpoint, Upekkha etc. On the other hand, the series that have gained immense popularity are Boro Rokomer Bhu, Misir Ali and Himu series.

Humayun Ahmed was born on this day in 1948 in Mohanganj, Netrokona district.
