DHAKA, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed Iskandar Mirza Shamim,
member of the Awami League's (AL's) Science and Technology Affairs Sub-
Committee, on a five-day remand in a case filed over torching a Victor
Paribahan passenger bus.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the order after police
produced Shamim before the court and pleaded for a 10-day remand in the case
lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Police arrested Shamim from the capital's Gulshan-2 area earlier in the day
and showed him arrested in the case filed with Gulshan Police Station.

Unidentified miscreants set fire to the bus in the capital's Shahjadpur area
on November 10. Later, the bus owner Hafizul Islam filed the case in this
regard.
