DHAKA, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - The Police Headquarters in a statement today issued a strong warning to the public about the circulation of fake videos on the social media that misuse the names and images of senior police officials.

According to the statement, certain groups are creating and sharing videos containing false information by adding artificial voices to photos of the DMP Commissioner, Superintendent of Police of Tangail, and the AIG (Media and PR).

"The police believe these fabricated videos are part of an organized attempt to spread confusion, incite chaos, and disrupt public order," it said.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to taking strict legal action against individuals or groups involved in producing or sharing such misleading content, it added.

The Police Headquarters has urged all citizens to remain alert and not be influenced by social media propaganda.

It also advised the public to verify the authenticity of any information, pictures, statements, audio, or video before liking, sharing, or commenting on them online.
