JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - A group of Jahangirnagar University (JU) students, under the banner of "Nipironer Biruddhe Jahangirnagar" (Jahangirnagar Against Repression), today held a protest rally against the now-disbanded Awami League's so-called lockdown.

The rally marched from Murad Chattar before concluding at the main entrance of the university adjacent to the Dhaka-Aricha Highway around 4:30 pm.

Addressing the gathering, Faizan Ahmed Arko, General Secretary of JU Chhatra Union, said, "We resisted the Awami League and its associated wings like Chhatra League during the ousted regime. We showed our strength during the July Uprising. How dare this banned fascist organisation announce such a programme in current situation? We will resist them again."

Sojib Ahmed Zenich, an organiser of JU Chhatra Front (Marxist), also demanded the repatriation of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India and the completion of her trial for the crimes she committed.
