World Diabetes Day-2025 observed across the country

DHAKA, Nov 14, 2025 (BSS)- The ‘World Diabetes Day-2025’ was observed today across the country to raise awareness about Diabetes.

The day was marked vigorously with campaigns, free diabetic tests, marathon, seminars, discussions and rallies.

The theme of the day this year was ‘Raising Diabetic Awareness in Workplace’.
In Dhaka, the day began with a marathon run lunched by Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES).
 
More than a thousand registered participants, including renowned endocrinologists, BES members, doctors, students, and the general public joined the 7.5 kilometers marathon started from the Hatirjheel Amphitheater.

In Cumilla, a daylong free diabetic test campaign and awareness seminar was held at Brahmanpara Diabetic Hospital. More than two hundred persons were tested diabetes. 

In Madaripur, a rally and discussion and a free diabetes tests were held at the Madaripur Diabetic Hospital.

In Jhalokathi, the day observed by a rally and discussion arranged by the Jhalkahti Diabetic Samity.
A colorful rally and discussion was held in Kushtia, organized by the Kushtia Diabetic Association. Chairman of the Health Reforms Commission and President of Bangladesh Diabetic Association and National Professor AK Azad Khan attended the programme was present as guest

In Satkhira district, a colorful procession was brought out from Satkhira Circuit House. The procession visited important roads and ended at Satkhira Diabetes Hospital. On the occasion a free medical camp offered free diabetes tests and treatment.

Such events were also observed in Feni, Bogura, Bandarban, Laxmipur and other districts.
