Sheikh Hasina made mismanagement, corruption in dev projects: Hafiz

BHOLA, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Standing Committee member and Bhola-3 former lawmaker Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikrom, today said that fascist Sheikh Hasina's government misappropriated public funds and failed to complete various development projects, resulting in significant financial losses for the country.

Speaking at a reception at Shahbazpur Government College ground in Lalmohan upazila, he said that Sheikh Hasina looted the country’s wealth and left out development projects incomplete; adding that one   minister of her government owns 360 houses in London.

About his party nomination, Major Hafiz said BNP confirmed his nomination six months ago, with the formal announcement made on November 3. 

Arriving from Dhaka by launch on Friday, he was warmly welcomed by party leaders and supporters at Lalmohan launch ghat and later he received huge greetings from the people of all walks of life. 

He said, "The affection I have received today I will never forget. I am indebted to you all and will try to repay your love if I remain alive."

Noting that BNP conducts politics for the welfare of the people, he said: "We will honour everything we signed in the July charter, but we will not accept any new demands." 

The reception was chaired by Lalmohan Upazila BNP president Md. Zafar Iqbal and conducted by General Secretary Md. Shafiqul Islam Babul, with other local party leaders present.
