4 more Jubo League men held by DB in capital

DHAKA, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Police (DB) arrested four more leaders and activists of the Awami Jubo League during a series of raids conducted across different areas of the capital over the past 24 hours.

Teams from the Motijheel and Gulshan divisions of the DB carried out the operations, detaining individuals identified as active members of Jubo League. 

Deputy Commissioner of DB (Public Relations and Media) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests.

The arrested have been identified as Md. Roni (37, Vice-President, Ward - 4 Jubo League under Sabujbagh Police Station, Bablur Rahman Bablu (40), Co-Secretary of the Central Committee of Jubo League and former Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of Chhatra League, Sharif Hossain Dudu (43), Member of Chuadanga District Awami Jubo League and former President of Chuadanga District Chhatra League and Md. Mostafizur Rahman (50) , member of Chuadanga District Jubo League.

According to DB sources, Motijheel Division’s Illegal Weapons Recovery and Drug Control Team arrested Md. Roni from the Sabujbagh area around 7:30 pm on Friday. 

On Saturday, at around 8:00 am, the DB Gulshan Division arrested Bablur Rahman Bablu from Mirpur-11. 

Earlier that morning, around 7:30 am, another team from the same division detained Sharif Hossain Dudu during a raid in Mirpur. 

Later, the DB Gulshan Division’s weapons and drug control team arrested Md. Mostafizur Rahman from the Mirpur police station area at around 9:30 am.

DB officials said that the detainees are active members of Jubo League, and legal proceedings against them are underway at the respective police stations.
