DINAJPUR, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid today requested the people of Dinajpur to vote for BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in the upcoming national parliamentary election.

"If the people of Dinajpur elect Begum Khaleda Zia by casting their votes for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol, their debt to the country will be repaid," he said.

Dr. Zahid made the remarks while addressing a meeting organized by the Dinajpur District BNP for Begum Khaleda Zia's election campaign in the Dinajpur Sadar constituency.

He instructed every BNP leader and activist to convey this message to voters through door-to-door campaigns.

He also emphasized that leaders and activists of the party must not indulge in any communal rhetoric while seeking votes from people of all religions, including Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Buddhist communities.

"All voters are honorable citizens and BNP activists must respectfully and humbly seek their votes for Begum Khaleda Zia using the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol," he said, adding that every voter should feel that casting their vote is a step toward safeguarding their rights.

Dr. Zahid warned party activists against creating any conflicts during campaigning, saying, "One party is trying to stir controversy to delay the election. They may try, but they won't succeed. The people have woken up to the call of Tarique Rahman."

He stressed the party's commitment to a neutral election, stating that all political parties, along with law enforcement agencies, will work to ensure the election is conducted in a peaceful and joyful atmosphere.

The BNP leader criticized the Awami League, saying the party enforced a 174-day strike and caused deaths through violence, and during the recent lockdown, vehicles were set on fire and people were killed.

"We do not want to see those days again. We want to return to a time when people's rights are respected," he said.

The meeting was presided over by Dinajpur District BNP President Advocate Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, while General Secretary Bakhtiar Ahmed Kachi conducted the program.
