DHAKA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on tax commissioner MM Fazlul Haque of Dhaka Taxes Zone-03 and additional commissioner Abdur Rashid Miah of Rangpur Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate.

Judge Shihabul Islam of Dhaka Senior Special Judge Court passed the order, allowing two separate pleas of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The applications stated that an inquiry is underway against MM Fazlul Haque and Abdur Rashid Mias based on the verification of the asset declarations submitted under their own signatures. 

"Reliable sources informed investigators that the individuals concerned may flee the country during the course of the inquiry. Therefore, to ensure a proper and unhindered inquiry, it is essential to impose a travel ban on them," it added.
