BGB patrol beefed up in Madaripur centering ICT verdict on Hasina

MADARIPUR, Nov17, 2025 (BSS)  - The district administration has beefed up the BGB patrolling across the district centering the ICT verdict against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and  IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.

The district administration has increased the overall security measures across the district by deploying four platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) alongside the army and the police from Sunday afternoon.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl.SP) Crimes and Ops Jahangir Alam said that the BGB has been deployed here for special reasons and the law and order of the district is now under control. The BGB personnel have been performing their duties under the supervision of the executive magistrates, he said.

The BGB, Army and Police officials have already started joint patrolling here since Sunday afternoon and continuing their hard patrol at the important areas of the town today. Special deployment has been ensured at bus stand, Natun Bazar, Puran Bazar and main roads of the district.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Adil Hossain claimed that the law and order forces are on high alert to tackle any unwanted situations in the district. Traffic movement in and around the town was almost normal and most of the shops and markets were also open, the OC said, adding that the overall situation of the district was also normal.
