JCD announces combined panel for JnUCSU polls

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD)'s Jagannath 
University (JnU) unit has announced a combined panel for the Jagannath 
University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) election.
 
The panel, formed with the JnU units of Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Odhikar 
Parishad, and popular general students on campus, has been named "Oikyoboddho 
Nirvik Jabians" (United Fearless JnU Students).

From this panel, AKM Rakib, president of the JnU Chhatra Odikhar Parishad, 
will vie for Vice President (VP) post while Khadijatul Kubra, joint convener 
of JnU Chhatra Dal, for General Secretary (GS) post and Atikur Rahman Tanzil, 
member of the Convening Committee of JnU Chhatra Dal, for Assistant General 
Secretary (AGS) post.

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Rakibul Islam Rakib announced the 
panel today at a press conference in front of the Language Martyr Rafiq 
Bhaban of the university.
 
JCD GS Nasir Uddin Nasir and Chhatra Odhikar Parishad Vice-President Muntasir 
Mukul were present on the occasion.

The VP candidate, AKM Rakib, is a student of the 2017-18 session of the 
Department of Botany while GS candidate Khadijatul Kubra is from the 2019-
2020 session of the Department of Political Science. AGS candidate Tanzil 
Ahmed is from the 2021-2022 session of the Department of Islamic Studies.

Nominees for other posts in the panel include: Liberation War and Democracy 
Secretary: Anik Kumar Das, Education and Research Secretary: Nusrat Chowdhury 
Zafrin, Science and Technology Secretary: Md. Mashfikul Islam Rayeen, Health 
and Environment Secretary: Al Shahriar Shawon, Law and Human Rights 
Secretary: Arghya Sreshtha Das, International Affairs Secretary: Apu Munshi, 
Literature and Culture Secretary: Takrim Ahmed, Sports Secretary: Md. Kamrul 
Hasan Nafiz, Transportation Secretary: Mahid Hasan, Social Service and 
Student Welfare Secretary: Md. Anan Bin Rahman and Library and Seminar 
Secretary: Riasal Rakib.

Among the seven member posts, candidates have been declared for six. The 
remaining one will be announced later. The member candidates are-- Imran 
Hasan Imon, Sadman Samya, Sultan Mahmud Shuvo, Moniruzzaman Monir, Towhidul 
Islam Tanim, and Md. Ariful Islam Arif.

After the panel announcement, JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib said those 
included in the panel have already shown their commitment through student-
friendly work, movements, and various activities. 

"We believe JnU students will recognize their efforts," he added.

The JnUCSU election is scheduled to be held on December 22. Since the 
establishment of the university, this will be the first-ever JnUCSU election.
