DU experts inspect quake-damaged Ghorashal railway bridge

NARSINGDI, Nov 28, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka University inspection team today examined cracks that appeared in Pillar No. 2 and Pillar No. 3 of the Ghorashal railway bridge, an early 20th-century structure on the Dhaka-Chattogram line, following the November 21 earthquake.

The team also assessed structural cracks at three government food godowns in Ghorashal.

The five-member delegation, led by Professor Md. Zillur Rahman of Dhaka University's Department of Disaster Science and Climate Resilience, visited the sites this afternoon.

Narsingdi District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md. Yunus Mia and Palash Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Kawsar Alam Sorkar accompanied the team during the inspection.
