BUET's technical committee, DU's coordination committee inspect eight halls

DHAKA, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS)- The technical committee, comprising expert from BUET and the Central Coordination Committee of Dhaka University (DU) for technical inspection, evaluation and monitoring of various residential halls and buildings after the earthquake, have inspected more eight halls today.

The committee members, led by the President of the Central Coordination Committee and Treasurer of the University Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury visited Shamsun Nahar Hall in the afternoon. 

Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, the provost of Shamsun Nahar Hall, the acting chief engineer, and leaders of DUCSU and the Hall Sangsad were present at the time.

Various sub-committees comprising experts from BUET inspected various halls including Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall, Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall, Sir A.F. Rahman Hall and Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall.

During the inspection, BUET Civil Engineering Department Professor Dr Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed, Professor Dr Rakib Ahsan, Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, along with the concerned hall provosts, residential teachers, university engineers and representatives of DUCSU and Hall Sangsad were present.

It is mentionable that a meeting of the Central Coordination Committee of Dhaka University regarding the technical inspection, evaluation and monitoring of various residential halls and buildings after the earthquake will be held tomorrow at 11 am at the Treasurer's office. 

President of the Central Coordination Committee and Treasurer Professor Dr M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury will preside over the meeting.
