SYLHET, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - All commercial outlets here in the city, except hotels, restaurants and medicine shops, will remain closed after 9:30pm starting December 7.

A decision was also made to keep the parking spaces of all markets open for public use.

The directives were finalized at a view-exchange meeting with leaders of various market committees, held at the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner's Office conference room. Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury presided over the meeting.

The meeting further decided that all shops illegally constructed in designated parking areas of markets and shopping malls must be removed by December 31. These establishments were built in violation of approved parking plans, and authorities emphasized the importance of restoring parking facilities for smooth traffic management.
