KURIGRAM, Dec 5, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said the party is prepared to take part in the upcoming national election on the government-announced schedule if no major political or administrative crisis arises.

"We will join the election unless a major crisis unfolds. We have completed all field-level preparations," he told journalists after Jummah prayers at Sardarpara Jame Mosque.

Rizvi arrived in Kurigram in the morning, offered Jummah prayers, and joined a doa mahfil seeking the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Asked about Khaleda Zia's health and the upcoming polls, he said her recovery remains the party's top concern, but BNP has already completed its preparations to contest the election before next Ramadan as declared by the government.

He said that 'no repression by fascist Hasina' could suppress Khaleda Zia, adding that people from all walks of life, along with members of the international community are praying for her recovery.

"The emotional outpouring across the country reflects people's love for Khaleda Zia," he said.

Local BNP, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal leaders were present during Rizvi's visit.
