DHAKA, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today placed Kabir, a close associate of prime accused Faisal Karim Masud alias Rahul Daud on a seven-day remand in a case filed over the attempted murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Manch.

Police produced Kabir before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court seeking a 10-day remand for further investigation.

After hearing the petition, Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibuzzaman, on behalf of the CMM, granted a seven-day remand.

Sub-Inspector Roknuzzaman of the General Registration unit of the Paltan Thana court confirmed the matter to BSS.

According to the case statement, on December 12 at around 2:20 pm, Osman Hadi came under attack while returning from Motijheel Mosque after offering Jumma prayers and concluding a campaign. Assailants riding a motorcycle allegedly opened fire at him on Box Culvert Road under Paltan Police Station and fled the scene.

Following the incident, Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Manch, filed a case with Paltan Police Station on December 14, accusing the attackers of attempted murder.
