DHAKA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) -  Nagarik Oikya leaders met BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in a courtesy call at the BNP's Gulshan office this evening. 

Nagarik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna along with the party's senior leaders was present at the time.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues concerning the upcoming national election, including holding it in a free and fair manner.

After the meeting, Mahmudur Rahman Manna told journalists that they had come only to convey condolences on the death of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. There was no discussion on politics, elections, or any other issues, he added.  

However, Tarique Rahman said he does not feel alone as everyone has come to meet him. He thinks he is with everyone and wants everyone to be with him in the work of building the country.

The BNP's Acting Chairman and the Nagarik Oikya chief sought everyone's cooperation in implementing his grand plan for various sectors, including a liveable capital, healthcare, and agriculture.
